Serious Science Camp
Serious Science Camp with Jane Powel is a wonderful option for your budding scientist. She and her team of scientists, educators, and PhD’s, will immerse your child in a wide variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) experiments and projects daily.

Younger students participate in dozens of hands-on labs, experiencing the wonders of scientific exploration.

Older students choose from an extensive menu cutting-edge labs focused on current issues. They receive individualized attention from the Science Camp staff and are encouraged to pursue topics of personal interest in depth. Students who share common interests may collaborate on a project for Intel or LISEF (Long Island Science and Engineering Fair).

Activities Include: A go-kart and two soap box derby cars that are available for experimentation on their chassis and engines. Biotechnology (try the new CRISPR technology), chemistry, (play with polymers) 3D printing, coding , lego robotics, physics, dissections, breadboards, DIY, animation, videography, and rocketry complete the list of choices for 2017 campers.
Kate McDaniel, a marine ecologist from UC SD makes full use of the ponds at EWS and the resources of CSH Fish Hatchery.
